The Lady Tigers improved their record to 4-1 on the season with a 6-2 win over Waterloo.
On her birthday, pitcher Jacqueline Kish celebrated in style as she went the distance to pick up her third mound win of the young season. Kish scattered eleven hits, struck out four and walked three.
Senior Cassie Bacon paced the Springfield offense with a three-run home run and a single. Makenzy Capouellez chipped in with two hits, which included a double and a single. Capouellez also drove in one run and scored once. Molly Pontius smacked a double and a single. Abby Joseph laced a pair of singles and scored once. Kaelen Yemma added a single and drove in one run, and Mya Duskey added a single and scored once to round out the Tigers ten-hit attack.
For the Waterloo nine, catcher Amber Cieplinski led the offense with three singles. Kerrie More smacked a pair of singles and Machayla Kehrer and Laura Hood hit a double and a single each.
With the victory, Springfield improved to 4-1 on the season and 3-1 in the conference. Waterloo dropped to 2-2 on the season and 1-2 in the conference.
