Springfield lost to McDonald by a score of 2-1 in a great softball at Springfield High School. Jacqueline Kish took the mound loss for the Tigers. Kish allowed nine hits, struck out three and did not allow a walk.
Offensively for the Tigers, Cassie Bacon had a pair of hits with a single and a double. Makenzy Capouellez hit a pair of infield singles. Mya Duskey hit a double. Madison Mullen, Jacqueline Kish and Marlie Applegarth each hit a single. Applegarth drove in Springfield’s lone run.
McDonald was led by catcher Megan Ward who hit a single and two triples. Ward scored both of McDonald’s runs as well. Katie Donkers and Hannah Donkers both hit a pair of singles and drove in one run each.
Rachel Ward picked up the mound win for McDonald as she allowed eight hits, struck out six and walked three.
Springfield dropped to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in the conference.
